ERIKS supports customer in Hose Optimisation
The Customer
Located in the West Flemish town of Izegem, Kasteel Brouwerij Vanhonsebrouck has its origins in the historic Vanhonsebrouck family brewery, originally situated in Ingelmunster and celebrating a century of brewing in 2000. The brewery is renowned for its distinctive specialty beers, including Kasteelbier, St. Louis, and Brigand.
The Challenge
In brewery production environments, hoses play a crucial role. At Castle Brewery Vanhonsebrouck, an issue was observed where the hoses kinked immediately after the coupling due to a sharp 90° bend. This kinking heightened the risk of tearing. Additionally, the hoses were fitted with clamp shells, which are more susceptible to bacterial formation.
The Solution
ERIKS, with their extensive knowledge and expertise in the brewing industry, recommended that Kasteel Brouwerij Vanhonsebrouck use beer hoses equipped with pressed couplings. This approach enhances the hygiene of the connections. Additionally, the inclusion of an anti-kink spiral prevents any kinking, thereby extending the lifespan of the beer hoses. These specially assembled hoses are also ideal for scenarios where the hoses must be attached to vertical connection points.
The Result
These solutions will substantially boost the brewery's production uptime. The need for maintenance is minimized, and the frequency of production shutdowns for hose replacements is reduced. Moreover, the enhanced durability of the hoses lowers the total cost of ownership (TCO). The improved quality of the hose assembly also significantly reduces the risk of contamination.
