ERIKS opens new high-tech facility in Malaysia

ERIKS has officially opened its new facility in Johor, Malaysia, strengthening its presence in Asia and its capabilities for customers in the semiconductor and high-tech industries. The opening marks an important step in ERIKS’ international growth strategy and brings advanced manufacturing capabilities closer to customers in one of the world’s key high-tech regions.

Precision, quality and advanced capabilities

Representing an initial investment of more than RM18 million (approximately €3.7 million), the new facility provides approximately 2,850 m² (30,000 sq ft) of floor space. It is designed to support the demanding requirements of semiconductor and other high-tech customers, combining advanced production capabilities with specialized engineering, quality assurance and local expertise. At its heart is a 500 m² ISO Class 7 cleanroom, with the potential to upgrade to ISO Class 6 in the near term, enabling ERIKS to assemble critical components to the high standards of cleanliness, quality and precision required in high-tech applications.

For ERIKS, the investment is about more than adding production capacity. It is another step in our ambition to make industry perform better, bringing our expertise and capabilities closer to customers in Asia. By strengthening the connection between our European and Asian capabilities, we enable international customers to access consistent expertise, processes and quality standards, combined with responsive local support close to their operations. This can shorten supply chains, improve delivery reliability and help customers build greater resilience into their operations.

“We have developed strong expertise in high-tech industries over many years, and we see a clear opportunity to build on that expertise internationally. This new facility is an important part of that journey. It allows us to strengthen what we already do well, while bringing our capabilities closer to customers in a region that will play an increasingly important role in the future of high-tech manufacturing.”

Building on more than 45 years in Asia

The new facility builds on ERIKS’ more than 45 years of experience in Asia. It will serve as a strategic hub within ERIKS’ international network, primarily supporting customers in the semiconductor and high-tech industries, while also creating opportunities across the wider industrial ecosystem in Southeast Asia.

By combining local manufacturing and customer support with expertise from across its international network, ERIKS can work closely with customers on demanding applications and help them improve the performance and reliability of their processes and products.

Official opening

The facility was officially opened on 3 November 2026 in the presence of 80 customers, business partners, employees and distinguished guests.

The opening ceremony was officiated by Pieter Blussé, Deputy Ambassador and Head of the Economic Section at the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands; Victor Aquina, CEO of ERIKS; and Rashmi Ranjan Raj, Regional Managing Director of ERIKS APAC. Together, they marked an important milestone in ERIKS’ continued investment in high-tech manufacturing capabilities in Southeast Asia.
